Course structures

Courses across an organization should have a consistent structure and a consistent overall 'look and feel' while still allowing room for individual differences.
This reduces 'cognitive load' for students; they can spend time and effort on the real purpose of the system - effective learning - rather than trying to locate the resources.
Courses also need to be written with the student in mind.
