I had a conversation with a leader of another K12 school yesterday. The school is also on the quest to improve teaching and learning, and is encountering similar problems to those I am encountering. These problems go away if you work only with those who want to be part of the journey. However, this does not move the who organization forward.
Whole organization movement is the only solution. Students and parents do not see a school as a collection of tribes who choose what they want to do. They buy into a school...a whole school.
